Meet Anthony, Christchurch Wedding Photographer
EARLY CHILDHOOD IN ENGLAND
Art was in my blood from a young age and there was nothing I loved more than painting. My Mum and Dad always encouraged me and for their support I am truly grateful.
LOVING ALL OF THE ARTS
My love of the arts crossed over to music too. I was an absolute master of pressing the Casio keyboard demo button! And there’s no denying that I was obviously a pretty cool kid, as I played the number one rock instrument of choice; the clarinet.
As a kid I loved sport – and to this day I still do. I have a passion for football and have supported my favourite team, Man United, since my earliest memories.
I’M PART NERD
I must have inherited some of my Mum’s egg-head genes, as I excelled academically at school. Although I now love heaps of nerd stuff, the books just weren’t really me. I was all about the Arts, graphics and computers. I got my first real taste of photography at college in ’98 and there I started to tinker with scanning in my work and using a new program called “Photoshop”.
1999 AND OFF TO UNIVERSITY
At the age of 19 when I attended the University of Teesside I found a degree that combined all of my favourite subjects and rolled them into one big fat ball of awesome: 3D computer graphics. As part of the degree I was selected to go to the south of France to work for World Multimedia on their web and 3D graphics. It was a fantastic experience where I met a lot of great people and worked for big name clients like Warner Bros, Infogrammes and Sony.
2002 -TRAVELLING I MET THE LOVE OF MY LIFE
I loved it so much that I worked myself silly for 16+ hours a day and wrecked my body in the process. Due to OOS / RSI I was forced to take a recovery year which I spent travelling around Australia and New Zealand. It was one of the best things as, not only did I get to visit Ramsay Street, I also met my wife.
2006 – PHOTOGRAPHY IN EUROPE
In 2006 before saying cheerio to England, Sarah and I took a wonderful trip around Europe in our car. Since getting my first digital camera in 1998 I’d been passionate about photography. So being able to capture the rich culture, architecture and scenery Europe had to offer was a dream come true!
AND NOW NEW ZEALAND IS HOME
Spinning the clock forward I now call New Zealand home. And since our arrival Sarah and I havn’t stopped. We bought our first home, suffered the Canterbury earthquakes and have now moved on to a more business friendly home, we got married and had two wonderful children, Finn and Amelia and at the same time have set up our photography business. It’s been a wild ride and long may it continue! Cheers for reading.
So that was my history in a nutshell. You can also visit this page and get to know more about me as a person and what makes me tick!
