NZIPP Iris Awards

Creative Wedding Photographer of the Year 2014 Finalist

Creative Wedding Photographer of the Year 2014 finalist

I was absolutely delighted to be recognised with multiple awards in the much coveted wedding photography category at the prestigious 2014 NZIPP iris awards.

Amongst others I took home gold, silver and bronze in the two wedding photography categories, creative and classic.  I won the national award for highest scoring new entrant to the awards, won a wedding album award and as the icing on the cake was nominated as a finalist for creative wedding photographer of the year.

Creative Wedding Photographer of the Year - finalist 2014 - Gold, Silver and Bronze

Picking up the awards in the Creative Wedding Photography category was an achievement I am very proud of.  The entries were all quite different and to see them each recieve accolades with the judges was awesome.  When I was nominated as the only South Island finalist for Creative Wedding Photographer of the year I was over the moon!

Classic Wedding Photography Category

Gold, Silver and Bronze

There are just two wedding photography categories at the awards, classic and creative.  Although I felt that my creative and artistic work was strong I wanted to see how I’d fair in the classic category, which awards the ability to capture the moment through pure photography.  When I picked up gold, silver and bronze here too I was absolutely elated.

Wedding Album Award

To receive this award for this wedding album design was fantastic.  It’s lovely to get recognition for stand alone photographs but as a wedding photographer I believe that the wedding day story is what ultimately counts.  Being able to showcase an entire wedding coverage and have the quality recognised with an award was even more important to me than winning in the other categories.

Below are the spreads from the awarded album from Beth and Ben’s wedding at Flock Hill.
