Caitlin and David originally planned to have their destination wedding in Christchurch. After the 6.3 earthquake on 22 February they were unfortunately forced to rethink where they would have their wedding. They decided they wanted a beautiful beach wedding and relocated their small family wedding ceremony to the secluded Fisherman Island just off the coast of Kaiteriteri near Nelson.
Caitlin told us that she really loved the SNAP! Photography style and really wanted us to be there to capture her special moments, and we certainly didn't want to disappoint her. So we headed up to Kaiteriteri for the wedding. Despite only having a few hours in which to do the photography, we still got some great imagery in an absolutely beautiful location.
Fisherman Island is a one beach island with beautiful golden sand. The shoot was only for a few hours but that was enough time to capture some really nice moments telling the story of this beach wedding with our usual emphasis on artistic photography. David and Caitlin are an amazing couple and it was so obvious how much in love with each other they were. It was beautiful to see and an honour to be there photographing their location beach wedding here in New Zealand.
David's father was the minister for the wedding and this personal touch just added to the intimacy of this very special wedding. Thank you Caitlin and David for choosing SNAP! photography.
