Kaiapoi Wedding Photo Gallery
Lisa and Chris's wedding at Trousselot Park in Kaiapoi was fantastic. They are a vibrant and fun couple and we had a lot of fun shooting the wedding photos on the day. I was only present during the ceremony and for a short while after so there were a lot of shots that we needed to cover in a short period of time.
After the ceremony we did all the more formal bridal and family portraits before taking a short stroll over the River and down the tree-lined path that you see in some of the photos. I love this sequence under the trees for many reasons. I really like the way that the sun was falling between the trees in pools of light that I was able to get Chris and Lisa to stand in so they were the focus of the photo. Also the trees served as a nice natural frame for the shot, drawing the viewer's eyes towards the bride and groom. I also processed each of these photos in a different way which illustrates how a set of images taken within five minutes of each other can be imbued with such different appearances, visual qualities and therefore evoke different emotions.
After that we headed to Kaiapoi's Riverside Christian Fellowship Church. Lisa, Chris and the rest of the bridal party all climbed a ladder to get on top of the balcony above the front doors. It made for some really interesting photos and I just love the art deco architecture in the background. I'm a big fan of architecture and love to put lines running through my imagery, this art deco building was perfect for that.
The images would be nothing without the willingness of another fantastic bride and groom. Thank you Lisa and Chris.
