Akaroa Wedding Photo Gallery

As my assistant and I set off for Akaroa the rain was pouring down in Christchurch. We drove for an hour or so through thick cloud and heavy downpours. But as is often the case when I'm shooting weddings the rain subsided and allowed us to get some really great shots.

The finished wedding photos were comprised of a really eclectic mix. Akaroa is a great location for wedding photography and Mount Vernon Lodge is a fantastic wedding venue. I love the fact that we were able to get such diverse photos. For instance in one shot we are high up on the rocky hillside with the bride's dress billowing in the wind, the next we were paid a visit by 'Happy' the deer and then just a little later we were down by the lighthouse on Akaroa's harbour. We got some shots of the bride and groom on Akaroa's sandy beach and shots of them on the jetty with brooding clouds behind them.
